Soap importing from China

Hi all I have a few questions and wondering if anyone could help me.

Im thinking of starting a local business here in the UK, importing soap products from China and need some advice.

I use Alibaba to source products but the brickwall that I have come across is the appropriate legislations I need the supplier to abide by in order to get the products in the UK.

Any advice or information provided is greatly appreciated
